I have been a huge fan of yours since I saw Creature from the Black Lagoon when I was a kid. Enjoyed you in many other movies and TV appearances. Yours was the only case that Perry Mason ever lost!

One of my favorite monster movies as a kid in the 50's, especially with the creature swimming with Ms Adams scene, hey I was starting to grow up!!!! Ah... the innocence.

You and the "Creature" have been part of my life since I first saw the movie from between my fingers at our local theater in the 50's. The creature lived beneath my bed for years after that, but I was safe as long as I stayed within the boundaries of my bed until daylight. There was some comfort in the fact that the Creature was at least human enough to be attracted by your beauty. I am very glad we both survived our encounters with the Creature. I have to confess that for years I did not like you :) It was sort of your own fault. The first time I saw you I was about 12 years old and you were the female antagonist in Tickle Me. Considering that for me puberty began when I first laid eyes on Elvis, you didn't stand a chance.

That's all in the past of course, and I am very glad to see that you are well and still active in your craft. From my viewpoint, you have had a wonderful career, and I wish you continued good fortune.

What a thrill it must have been to have been involved with the Creature: a truly seminal event in movie history. Your contribution was one of understated intensity. I remember it well.

Naturally I am a big Creature fan having grown up in the fab 50s, but I enjoy spotting you in tv shows from the 50s-60s, my favorite tv era. You always gave a show a big serving of class just by being in it. Looking forward to reading your book!

When The Creature FTBL came out it was a period in my life when going to the movies on Saturday afternoon was a favorite American pastime. It was affordable, safe and pleasurable and the plots ended with the "good guys" winning.

Movies like The Creature From the Black Lagoon had elements of the 19th century melodramas with the audience drawn in by the action; in particular when the creature's claws got close to the heroine when she is unaware of his presence swimming below her or sneaking up behind her. The girls in the theater would especially let their emotions fly. But that sort of emotional display was all part of going to a scary "movie."

When the movie ended it was nice to step outside into a sunny day with that feeling of being safe from the claws of the Creature! You would wonder as you walked home after having your wits frightened off you if you could be brave like Julie Adams and swim in the same waters as swam the Creature From the Black Lagoon?
